Ivan and Danielle Harris welcome you to the Baskloof Private Fynbos Nature Reserve website.
At Baskloof we are committed to active conservation and protection of Baskloof & surrounds
and managing our natural resources sustainably.
We are excited to share our new initiatives with you and to present our
Conference & Education facilities and Wedding & Event venue to you.
Baskloof is off-grid
Leading by example, Hydro,Wind and Solar technology now supply all our energy requirements. Baskloof is off-grid – not connected to any external or state-supplied energy source – generating our own energy requirements from custom-built hydro, wind and solar power-generation installations. Various manufacturers of these installations allow us to access and evaluate performance and also provide the basis for demonstrative and hands-on training facilities in renewable energy technology, in our new-age energy efficient Afrispan Arch building:
The Co-Existence Centre (nature, man, energy).
There are two unique energy-efficient buildings on Baskloof, one of which houses the Co-Existence Centre, the other, the workshop. Being on the main tourist route to Cape Point and around the Peninsula, the Co-Existence Centre attracts local and visiting passing traffic – flagged by the very visible and intrigueing windturbines!
We have an exciting opportunity for like-minded visionary
entrepreneurs/educators to join with us in an innovative benchmarking venture.
